Rasmus' story: from separation to the One

In December 2024 Rasmus came to a retreat at The Magic Garden. A few days later he wrote to us about what he had lived through: the picture he had of himself – his name, his personality – fell apart, and in its place he felt that he is one with everything. He is honest that it hurt at first, and that afterwards he found a peace he cannot put into words. He made the drawing in the weeks that followed, as part of his integration.

Rasmus' drawing: a symmetrical pattern of glowing lines and dots in orange, blue and green, with faces and eyes emerging from the pattern.

Everything I thought I was

Rasmus' own words

There is no one else but the One. It was difficult for me to grasp that all of this is just a performance for the gallery. My entire personality crumbled. I suddenly understood that by calling myself Rasmus and giving myself a personality, I am actually splitting myself. Everyone is just a mirror of my beliefs. I don't truly exist in this realm, so I can only be the One – the lonely One – who created all of this. Because what else would there be?

At first it hurt

Rasmus' own words

It may sound like a depressing experience. That's also how I felt right after the journey… and actually all the way through the next day. But what really happened is that I was set free. I was shown the truth – and the truth hurts.

I've spent the last few days reflecting on all of this and have come to accept: it is what it is. And now I'm slowly beginning to realise how amazing life can become from here on. It's all just a big play, where everything is possible. I don't have to take it all so seriously – I can simply enjoy it while it lasts.

A peace that cannot be described

Rasmus' own words

I am the universe deceiving itself into believing it is separate from itself.

I just want to add that I've found a peace that cannot be described, and I've never felt better. ❤️

And that… was only one part of the journey. I can't even begin to describe the other part. ❤️

Love,Rasmus
