What the training teaches
Integral transpersonal means that the training brings many paths together into one whole and works with the whole person – including the experiences that reach beyond the personal: dreams, symbols, myths and inner journeys. It is also your own journey: you learn to guide others by walking the path yourself, with support to meet your heart and find your own answers to who you are and why you are here.
Transpersonal depth psychology
The map of the psyche from Freud, through Jungian depth psychology, to Stanislav Grof – and modern psychotherapy techniques that you practise hands-on with your fellow students.
Archetypal astrology
The symbolic language of the birth chart, used in therapy with ethics and both feet on the ground: archetypes, life cycles and timing.
Therapeutic use of tarot
The tarot cards as wisdom cards that open a conversation about archetypes and life themes – in your own life and in your clients' lives.
The collective frames of mythology
The great stories and the Hero's Journey as a shared language for what a human being goes through – and the question: what is the myth of your life?
The transforming power of shamanism
Rituals, invocations, song and drums, the medicine wheel – and a Vision Quest in the Norwegian wilderness.
Along the way you also work with dreams, body and breath, integration and creativity – and you learn to lead a group and hold the space.
How the training is built
The training has twelve modules, three a year. Every module is a door in: you begin with the next one that starts – whatever its number – and take the others as they come round.

Each arch is a door in – you can begin with any one of the twelve modules.
- Module 1Psychotherapy in theory and practiceFoundation module – runs about once a year

Between the weekends
Between the teaching weekends you meet your study group once a month, and you take part in ceremonies as an apprentice, with supervision before and after. Videos and texts from the modules are on the student portal. If you take the full training, you also get membership of The Magic Garden Tribe, our online temple with more than 400 hours of ceremonial music.
Do you feel called?
Join at the next module
You don't have to decide the whole way now. Take one module, feel how it is for you, and then choose: four months, two years or more.
Next module: Friday 20 November 2026
Your teachers
Jacob Moth leads the training and is its main teacher. Ecaterina Moth teaches the modules with him, and guest teachers join along the way.

Jacob has worked with transpersonal psychology for 42 years and trained with Stanislav Grof, Terence McKenna and Michael Barnett. His book The Magic Garden & the Adventure of Self-Discovery is the training's core textbook.

Singer, healer and facilitator. Ecaterina brings 25 years of her own inner journeys and 20 years of guiding others, and she has taken hundreds of people through ceremonies, full moon concerts and healing sessions.
Every guide on our team is on the four-year training too.
Is the training for you?
The training is for you if you
- feel called to guide others and want the tools to support them on their journey
- already know inner work from your own life – therapy, meditation or inner journeys – and want to go deeper
- want to learn with your head, your body and your heart: theory, practical training and your own process
- can make time for the weekends, the study group, the reading and your own inner journeys – count on about a quarter of a full-time course of study
What we look for
For the full training you need to be 28, or turn 28 during your first year of study, and to have a relevant higher education of at least three years (in psychology, education or health care) and three years of work experience. If you don't meet the age or education requirement, you can apply for an exemption: then we look at the whole of you – your experience, maturity and motivation.
A single module asks for less background. It is open to anyone with an interest in psychology and in working with symbols and consciousness – and here too, we talk with you first.
The training is also a deep personal process. So it matters that you are reasonably stable, in body and mind – we talk about this together in the conversation.
In our students' words
This training is like unboxing the universe.
Questions about the training
Do I have to wait for a new class to start?
No. The training runs in a cycle, and every module is a new place to begin. You join at the next one.
Can I take just one module?
Yes. A module lasts 3–4 months and stands on its own. If you want to go on, it counts towards the 2- or 4-year training.
Can I take the training if I speak English?
Yes. The teaching is in Danish, and we help you in English – just tell us when you write. Some of the reading is in English already.
Do I have to start with Module 1?
No. You can begin with any module. Module 1 is the required foundation module, which you take early on – it runs about once a year. The core techniques are introduced and practised again in the other modules, so you can catch up as you go. A few modules may have prerequisites; we go through them with you in the conversation.
How does a module work?
A module is four teaching days, with 26 hours of teaching plus breaks, at The Magic Garden in Fredensborg and usually spread over weekends: Friday and Saturday 9 am–5 pm and Sunday 9 am–3 pm. Some modules also have a few evenings online. In between, your study group meets, and you join ceremonies as a helper, with supervision before and after. Module 5 is different: a Vision Quest in the Norwegian wilderness, with meetings before and after at The Magic Garden.
I live outside Denmark – can I join?
Yes, if you can travel to Fredensborg for the teaching weekends. The Magic Garden is 35 km north of Copenhagen, about an hour and a quarter from Copenhagen Central Station to our door by train and on foot.
Do I need to have been on a retreat first?
It isn't a requirement. We recommend that you have some experience of inner journeys – ideally from a ceremony here at The Magic Garden – and we talk about it in the conversation.
What does it cost?
The full training costs DKK 39,600 a year – DKK 3,300 a month. You take it two years at a time, with a contract and a deposit of DKK 11,000. A single module costs DKK 13,200; Module 1 and Module 5 can also be paid as 6 × DKK 2,500. You pay by bank transfer, and if you are a student or on a low income, you can apply for a grant. No payment is taken on this website.
How many students are on a module?
Twelve at most.
No-obligation application
How to apply
Applying commits you to nothing: you write to us, we talk, and you only pay once your place is confirmed. You can apply at any time – admission is ongoing, and each module has at most 12 places.
Write to us
Tell us briefly who you are, and whether you want one module or the whole way. We will then send you the application form.
We talk
If it looks like a good fit, we invite you to a conversation about you, your experience and what you are looking for.
We confirm
Your application and the conversation are what we base our answer on: we confirm your place – or tell you honestly if this is not the right time for you.
Then you pay
Only when your place is confirmed do you pay – by bank transfer. A single module is paid on its own; the full training is taken two years at a time, with a contract and a deposit of DKK 11,000. Both can be paid in instalments. Nothing is paid here on the site.
