Plant medicine for couples – deep healing and connection

Couples therapy with plant medicine is a journey for the two of you in three phases: preparation, the ceremony itself and integration afterwards. It is ceremonial work – not couples therapy with a psychologist. You travel together in one ceremony at The Magic Garden in Fredensborg, 35 km north of Copenhagen, guided by Jacob and Ecaterina Moth, who have been a couple themselves since 1999.

  • A journey for the two of you – with preparation before and integration after
  • The ceremony lasts about 6–8 hours · we agree on the day together
  • Guided in English or Danish
  • You must both be 21 or over

Over time, a relationship can lose its passion, intimacy and closeness. Many couples know the misunderstandings, the mistrust or the emotional distance – and keep going round in the same circles, even while they long for something else.

Other couples come simply to experience something deep together – to explore a new dimension of connection, spirituality and shared insight.

Whether you two are looking for healing, self-discovery or a deep shared experience, we meet you where you are.

Is it right for the two of you?

It may be right for you, if you

  • want to see each other with fresh eyes and an open heart
  • feel distance or mistrust, or your way of talking to each other has come to a standstill
  • want to rediscover the love, passion and joy that first brought you together
  • want to experience something deep together – crisis or no crisis

Not for every couple

Ceremonial work is not for every couple, nor for every moment. It is not medical treatment, and it does not replace help from a doctor or psychologist. We talk with both of you before we agree on a date – about what you are looking for, your health and any medication you take – and we tell you honestly if we think it is not the right thing for you now. You must both be at least 21.

How it works

A shared journey in three phases: the conversation and the preparation, the ceremony itself and the integration. Integration is as important as the ceremony.

  1. Beforethe conversation and the week leading up to it

    We talk with you both

You write to Ecaterina, and then we talk with both of you – about your relationship, what you are looking for, your health, and what a ceremony is and is not. Only when all of us feel it is right do we agree on a date.

In the week before, you prepare, each on your own and together: plant-based food, quiet, and time for yourselves and for each other. Once the date is fixed, we send you written instructions for the preparation.

  2. The dayabout 6–8 hours

    The ceremony

You travel together in a safe and sacred space, and Jacob and Ecaterina are with you all the way. The ceremony lets you reach deeper layers – each of you on your own, and the two of you together. By healing individually, you make room to heal together.

When you land, you each draw or paint a mandala, and we talk about the journey – at the pace you need.

  3. Afterthe integration

    Integration

The work goes on after the ceremony. We support your integration, so that you can take in the experience and carry the insights into your everyday life together.

Give yourselves the next day off, and wait a while before making big decisions about your relationship. What shows itself on an inner journey often speaks in images and symbols.

We walk the path we guide you on

We have been partners in love, healing and growth since 1999. Like any couple, we have faced challenges, crises and uncertainty. But instead of growing apart, we chose to deepen our connection – through the very ceremonial work we now share with others.

Through this sacred work we have healed old wounds, found our trust again and built a relationship rooted in love, understanding and transformation. With decades of experience, we hold a nurturing, safe and sacred space where you two can let go of old wounds and past struggles and meet in a connection beyond words. We built The Magic Garden as a place where you get support to meet your own heart – and, as a couple, to meet each other there.

Questions and answers

Is this couples therapy with a psychologist?

No. It is a journey with plant medicine for the two of you – with preparation before and integration after. It is not medical treatment, and it does not replace couples therapy with a psychologist or a couples therapist.

Is it one day or a whole retreat?

It is one ceremony – one session – for the two of you. The ceremony itself lasts about 6–8 hours, so plan for the whole day and keep the day after free. The conversation before and the integration after are part of it.

Do we have to be in crisis to come?

No. Plenty of couples come for the shared experience itself, because they want to go deeper together.

What if only one of us is ready?

Then you wait. A ceremony for two needs both of you to want it for yourselves. The one who is ready can begin with a private ceremony or a retreat.

Do we have to share everything – even with each other?

No. Each of you shares only what you want to share – with us and with each other – and nobody is asked to do anything before they are ready. Either of you can say stop at any time.

Can we drive home afterwards?

That depends on each of you. For a first ceremony, someone else must come and drive you home.

We live outside Denmark. Can we come?

Yes – we guide you both in English. Fredensborg is 35 km north of Copenhagen, and our contact page shows the way here by train or car. If it is your first ceremony, arrange for someone to drive you afterwards.
