Full moon calendar 2026 and 2027

The full moon is the moment the Moon stands exactly opposite the Sun, seen from the Earth, so the whole side of the Moon that faces us is lit. To the eye it looks full for a couple of nights, yet the full moon itself is one precise moment. It happens at the same instant all over the world; only the clock reads differently from country to country – which is why the date can differ too.

About 29.5 days pass from one full moon to the next, so a year holds 12 or 13 of them. 2026 has 13: two fall in May, and the second of those is known as a blue moon.

In astrology the full moon always stands in the sign opposite the Sun's: with the Sun in Scorpio, the full moon is in Taurus. The signs on this page are the usual (tropical) signs at the moment the Moon is full.

At our full moon concerts the two signs set the theme of the evening – images the music grows from as we improvise, never predictions.

Every time here is Danish time – the clock in Copenhagen – rounded to the nearest minute. That is Central European Time (CET, UTC+1) until 29 March 2026, from 25 October 2026 to 28 March 2027 and again from 31 October 2027, and Central European Summer Time (CEST, UTC+2) in between. It is the same clock as in Berlin, Paris and Stockholm, and one hour ahead of the UK.
