Fredensborg Station is on the local line between Hillerød and Helsingør. From Copenhagen, change at Hillerød if you take the S-train, or at Helsingør if you take the coast line. The last stretch

  1. The Lord of the Trees: the three-metre tree stump at the entrance to Kronprinsessevej 11, with the green gate to the right behind the bushes

The tree stump at the entrance

At the entrance to number 11 stands a tree stump three metres tall – what is left of Denmark's oldest beech, which grew in the gardens of Fredensborg Palace from 1666 to 1999. When we bought the stump that same year, it weighed eight and a half tonnes.

  2. The green gate under a tiled roof, with the tarot card The Fool on the gate and flowers in front

    The green gate

Go through the green gate to the right of the stump.

  3. The garden seen from above: the stone path winds between grass and sculptures to the eight-sided roof of the Roundhall

    Through the garden

Follow the path through the garden to the house at the back. That is where the Roundhall is.

  4. The foyer with plants and flowers that leads into the Roundhall

    Into the Roundhall

Through the foyer you come into the Roundhall. This is where most things happen – the full moon concerts, the retreats and everything else.
